Lesotho’s Majestic Landscapes Inspire a Futuristic Showcase by Ms. Lovely Lali at 10th Global Fashion & Design Week

Noida, India: The breathtaking beauty and elevated spirit of the “Kingdom in the Sky,” Lesotho, found a powerful expression on the runway at the 10th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2026, through an extraordinary collection by designer Ms. Lovely Lali. Hosted at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida, the globally celebrated event was organized in association with the AAFT School of Fashion and Design and the AAFT School of Interior Design, bringing together creativity, culture, and innovation on one prestigious platform.

Inspired by the dramatic Maloti-Drakensberg Mountains, the collection translated nature’s grandeur into a bold, contemporary fashion language. Sculptural and futuristic silhouettes mirrored the rugged ridges and layered terrain of the mountains, expressed through strong, structured forms. The use of an earthy ombré palette beautifully captured the interplay of light and shadow across the highlands, adding depth, dimension, and a sense of movement to each ensemble. The result was a refined yet powerful narrative that seamlessly blended natural inspiration with modern design sensibilities.

Addressing the audience, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, AAFT, highlighted the importance of such international showcases in promoting cultural understanding and creative dialogue across borders. He emphasized that fashion continues to be a compelling medium for storytelling and global unity.

The presentation was also part of the grand celebration of Asian Unity Day on 2nd April, organized by the Asian Unity Alliance. The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) welcomed an esteemed gathering of dignitaries from India and across the world, including ambassadors, high commissioners, and diplomats, adding immense international significance to the occasion.

Deeply influenced by the culture and natural heritage of the Kingdom of Lesotho, the collection was widely appreciated for its originality, strength, and artistic vision. This remarkable showcase reaffirmed the power of fashion to transcend boundaries—transforming landscapes, traditions, and identities into a shared global experience of creativity and expression.
